VISIT OF THE RUSSIAN TRAINING SAILING SHIP “STS MIR” TO CHIOS – JUNE 22, 2010
The “Maria Tsakos” Foundation organized the visit of the Russian training sailing ship “STS Mir” to Chios. With a length of 110 m and sail area 2.771 m2, the vessel belongs to the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy. More than 100 crew members of 23 nationalities including Russian, British, Scottish, Irish, Spanish, Swedish, Lithuanian, Indian and Filipino, disembarked to attend the reception events and to pay homage to the island.
