Krimizis, President of the Scientific Council and a space exploration pioneer and expert gave a public lecture in Chios on April 12, 2013 on the occasion of the International Day of Human Space Flight. The Maria Tsakos Foundation and the Chios Astronomy Club jointly organized this event; the venue was the Amphitheater of the Sciences Management School of the Aegean University. A standing-room only audience was captivated by a fascinating presentation including the first ever sounds from space and archived videos of space exploration.

The Scientific Council deliberations were focused on the development of a 5-year strategic plan. A road map for activities, programs, research projects in sync with the Foundations’ Vision and Mission.
The next meeting of the Scientific Council is scheduled for the fall of 2013.
